SEOUL, July 1, 2026 — Boeing (NYSE: BA) has appointed Jieun Ku, Ph.D., as the executive director of the Boeing Korea Engineering & Technology Center (BKETC). Based in Seoul, she will oversee the center’s strategy and operations, as well as help grow its engineering and technology capabilities in Korea.

“We have strong trust in Jieun Ku’s leadership and the depth of experience she brings to this role,” said Michael Edwards, vice president, Boeing Global Technology. “Her record of leading complex engineering teams, solving difficult technical issues, and building strong cross-functional partnerships will support BKETC’s next phase of growth."

Ku brings nearly 20 years of aerospace engineering and leadership experience to the role. Most recently, she held two leadership roles on the 787 program, where she led complex organizations supporting engineering integration, quality and performance across major structures and global suppliers. She also played a key role in the 787 return to delivery in 2022.

Ku also served as deputy chief structures engineer for the 777 and 777X programs. She held leadership roles in product development, the concept center, and stress analysis, where she supported airplane-level integration, certification, new technology development and fleet support across multiple programs.

"I will focus on strengthening BKETC through close collaboration, technical excellence, and steady execution,” Ku said. “I look forward to working with the team in Korea to build on the center’s foundation and support Boeing’s long-term goals.”

As Boeing’s engineering and innovation center in Korea, BKETC accelerates the capture of disruptive technologies through Korea’s digitally advanced innovation ecosystem, strengthen R&D partnerships, speed technology development and transition, and expand Korean market opportunities. BKETC’s key focus areas include software engineering, artificial intelligence, avionics, electronics and displays, data solutions, and digital engineering.
